In 2003, after graduating from the band instrument repair technicians program at Renton Technical College (RTC), JD began working for a rental company as the lead repair technician. Also employed there was a fantastic manager named Celeste. During the next 3 years JD set his sights on owning a band instrument rental and repair business of his own and marrying Celeste.

The opportunity presented itself in 2006 to purchase Duvall Music. JD and Celeste fell in love with each other, the customers, students, teachers and the city itself. The deal was finalized and the grand re-opening was just weeks before the wedding. Needless to say 2006 was a very big year for the Alvarez's.

In early 2007 JD and Celeste decided that they loved this community so much they wanted to settle down here and buy their first house in Duvall. It just so happened that a house came on the market that not only would be the perfect for them, but it would also be able to house Duvall Music. The business moved from Main Street to our new location near Taylor Park. We very much enjoy servicing our rental customers along with members of surrounding community bands.
